Sorry if this is a silly question, but the collection won't open before 11:59 pm EDT August 3 regardless of when the remaining pitch hit is submitted, right?

Not at all a silly question! No, it won't open before August 3rd, 11:59PM EDT. If the pinch hit is claimed and submitted before then, the collection will just open on time, not earlier. :)
